Partner with us during Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAP Month)! Join us all month long as we spread awareness for the Prevention of Child Abuse and work together to keep our kids safe! Whether you’re a parent, teacher, volunteer, caretaker, or concerned community member, we have something for you!
Get involved this CAP month:
- Plant a pinwheel garden at your office, school, or other local place. Purchase a Pinwheel, sign or magnet to show your support. (Or make your own pinwheel!)
- Elementary School kids can submit their t-shirt designs by March 31 to be voted on the first weekend of April. The winning shirt will be for sale all month long!
- Participate in our virtual trainings, or schedule Brightpaths to come to your organization and host a Mandated Reporter, Abuse Recognition, Safe Sleep, or Body Safety training. Register for existing trainings, or contact us to schedule your own.
- Download a lock screen or virtual background to help spread awareness!
- Follow & share our content on social media all month long. Tag us when you see the pinwheels and billboards!
For Caregivers:
Talking to your kids about body safety can feel heavy – but you’re not alone! Register for a training and download our parent guide. Make a pinwheel with your child and begin a conversation this month. You’ve got this, and we’re here to help!
Have little ones? Brush up on safe sleep and learn how to have tough conversations with other grown-ups in your baby’s life.
Need more support? We all do! Register for a parenting class, shop our resource closet, or contact us for information on our home visiting program. Parenting is tough but you’re not alone.
For Community Members:
Building a brighter future for our families takes all of us, and all of us are better when families in our community are stronger. Learn the economic impact of child maltreatment, donate toward prevention, schedule a volunteer day, host a diaper drive or shop our amazon list, or learn more through our free virtual trainings for groups or individuals.
There are lots of ways to become a partner in prevention!
